RE: ? re Gigaware (Radio Shack) USB transfer cable

Select the file you want to transfer, click on Edit, then either "Copy to Folder", or "Move to Folder", find the folder you want to transfer to click on it. The folder has to be shared in order to access it from the other computer. If you have your computers networked, this is easier than inserting a thumb drive, copy/move the file to the thumb drive, remove the thumb drive, move to the other computer, insert the thumb drive in the other computer, copy/move the file from the thumb drive.

RE: question for the more mature members?

TV was just as unreal in the '50's as it is now.

RE: What is the most spectacular view you've ever seen?

One of the best was looking down on Machu Pichu as the sun rose to illuminate it, after hiking for three days on the Inca Trail.

RE: Changing jobs, anyone else make a long commute?

If it's an 8 hour day, now you're looking at a 10.5 hour day. Also the area of the commute is something to consider: how bad is the traffic and if it is bad will that contribute to excessive stress levels? I commute about 40 minutes one way and would not be too happy with a much longer commute. Audio books make it bearable as far as I'm concerned.

My release from the Army was thanks enough for me.

RE: Correct English

I'm reminded (as I so often am) of an old story. It's about the college freshman who is crossing the campus and encounters an elderly professor. "Can you tell me where the library is at?" asks the freshman. Glaring, the professor says, "Young man, at Harvard one does not end a sentence with a preposition!" The student replies, "Sorry. Can you tell me where the library is at, jerk?" This is funny because...?

RE: OJ found guilty

I paid no attention to the original trial and intend to repeat that for this one.

RE: What GPS System or Software?

I use a Garmin Nuvi 750 GPS, Mapsource and Delorme Street Atlas for planning trips.

RE: Duggars and their 18 kids

At the risk of stirring the pot. I'd rather see a large self supporting family than the hundreds of kids being raised on welfare. It doesn't have to be either/or. I'd rather see smaller families than larger ones.

RE: Password Management Software?

If it's secure, easy to use, and you're happy with it, why change?

RE: Dimmer switch.

I'd heard that it was going back on the floor because using it was interfering with cell phone texting.

RE: Password Management Software?

If you like roboform, use the old version and it will allow unlimited passwords for free. Why? What's wrong with paying a few bucks for a product that does exactly what it purports to do?

RE: Anyone Working at Home Online Business?

Peggy works at home on the computer with a virtual call center. Not telemarketing since we both hate telemarketers. She likes it since it isn't full time, just 29 hours a week. She's retired so she has no desire to work full time.

RE: Turn cheap, nasty tasting wine into fine wine

What I've discovered about the difference between "fine" wines and the everyday stuff you find on the shelf. The "fine" stuff is just more bitter than the less aged stuff. My winery cabinet consists of one bottle of Wasson Brothers Raspberry. Willamette Valley Vineyards does make a good Cabernet Sauvignon, along with Oregon Blossom. However, I give away alot more alcohol than I drink myself. When I do drink something, I usually bury the alcohol in something else so it doesn't bother me. I do love a good Cider, though. Strongbow, Aspall's.... Now, if I could get someone in the UK to smuggle me some Scumble, then I'd be a happy happy man :). A palate is very much like other things: it needs to be educated to appreciate the finer things.

RE: A SMart car in your future?

Those are pretty cool. I like the idea of the SmartCar for city use, but the fact that it burns Premium and only gets around 35 mpg makes not so hot. I get 34-36 in my Ford Escort and it burns regular and cost less than $10,000 when I bought it.
